Samuel Burns, fine art landscape photographer
Samuel Edward Burns
Born Sydney, Australia 1979
Samuel Edward Burns is an artist working in the photographic medium. Primarily self taught, he chooses to shoot on traditional film based large format 4x5 and panoramic cameras which offer a slow contemplative method towards his photography.
Initially drawn to landscape photography for its contemplative nature, he travelled extensively around Australia and North America on solo journeys, allowing him to delve into the emotion of place and time.
His work has developed into an exploration of conceptual ideas and an underlying urge to portray human emotions whilst also staying close to his love of the introspective nature the landscape allows.
Sam currently resides in Sydney as a commercial photographer specialising in location and architectural photography.
I feel very inspired by Samuel's photography. I only wish i will one day be able to produce images such as his.
I love the colour in his photos. I want to try and capture similar colour in my images. Its a shame its still winter now, because the sun sets in the summer, and autumn always produce amazing colours in the sky, especially where i live. The sun sets over Hopwas Woods, and looks amazing. Ive never been able to photograph it properly with my compact camera. Now i have my Nikon, i hope to better them. Ive just got to wait for the sun to be in the right place.

Hi
ReplyDeleteyour work is both informative and reflective, you have added how you would emulate the work yourself , you are clearly capable of working at a high level and could progress to level 3 and 4!
